As we get closer to the BLADES2BUILD Workshop: “Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Beyond Compliance for Circular WTB Solutions”, we are highlighting two more key thematic areas that will be explored during the event.
🧪 Demonstration & Analytical Interpretation
How do we move from test results to meaningful conclusions about the environmental compatibility of circular materials?
Participants will explore representative test set-ups, sample types and prepared eluates, together with analytical approaches including pH and electrical conductivity measurements, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, LC-MS and GC-MS. Particular attention will also be given to the interpretation of concentration, mass-related release and surface-related release.
👷 Occupational Health & Safety
Circularity must go hand in hand with safe processing and working conditions.
The workshop will address potential exposure during cutting, crushing, grinding, thermal treatment and chemical processing, considering dust, fibres, gases and vapours, as well as dermal or liquid contact.
The session will also introduce the relevant European occupational health and safety framework, including Directive 89/391/EEC, Directive 98/24/EC, EN 689 and EN 482, alongside the German implementation through GefStoffV, TRGS 402 and TRGS 900.
