🔎 REGULATORY FRAMEWORK
How can an end-of-life wind turbine blade move from waste to recovered material and ultimately into a construction product?
📍 The workshop will explore the EU regulatory pathway, including waste status and classification, end-of-waste considerations and product entry. Particular attention will be given to national implementation in Germany, alongside selected European comparisons.
🧪 ENVIRONMENTAL COMPATIBILITY & RELEVANT STANDARDS
How do we demonstrate that recovered materials are environmentally compatible and suitable for their intended applications?
📍 Participants will gain insight into key testing approaches and standards, including DIN 19529, DIN EN 12457-4, DIN 19528, DIN EN 14429 and the DIN EN 16637 series, covering batch and pH-dependent leaching, column and percolation testing, product-side release routes and dynamic surface leaching.
💡 The workshop will connect regulation, environmental testing and circularity, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge on the practical steps needed to advance circular WTB solutions responsibly.
